In response to the FY26 Budget, Governor Moore announced a hiring freeze for the Executive Branch of the State of Maryland. As such, the State is temporarily pausing recruitment efforts for most positions.
However, certain classifications -- e.g. in public safety -- are exempted from the hiring freeze and so are still actively being recruited for.
