The Tucson Water Department is seeking a motivated team player with excellent attention to detail to join our Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) team.  The EAM system was recently upgraded to Hexagon EAM and we are expanding the use of the system throughout the department.  The successful candidate will join a dynamic team that is playing an integral role in Tucson Water’s transition to a digital utility.

General Description

This classification is responsible for maintaining asset data in the Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) system and will work closely with Planners, Business Analysts, Supervisors, and Utility Technicians to ensure the accuracy and completeness of our asset data.  This work is foundational to the Utility’s desire to improve the quality of our data and allow managers to make data driven decisions.

Essential Functions

Documents task time on assigned EAM Work Orders, work order estimates, flag repeats/returns, on-call orders and projects for introduction of data into dash boards and metrics. Provides asset specific data into FCM dashboards and metrics on a weekly, monthly and quarterly requirement.

Executes assigned tasks to manage and monitor the EAM database data and functionality.

Performs data analysis for data integrity, accuracy and error correction.

Identifies trends in data inaccuracies and provide input on correcting through either interface or application constraints.

Builds Excel upload sheets using drawing knowledge and established processes.

Develops reports using Excel documents exported from various software programs.

Collaborates, coordinates, receives, reviews and analyzes assessment data from field technicians, assessment teams and others specific to the asset. Maintains baselines and updates for all identified assets to be cataloged and tracked.

Provides data and analysis for work orders, projects and estimates by reviewing and analyzing job requests; researching past requests; comparing cost estimates by trade as they pertain to the asset.

Identifies trends in data inaccuracies and provide input on correcting through either interface or application constraints.

Assists professional planning staff by compiling, evaluating, analyzing, and illustrating, and by preparing descriptive materials and illustrations for presentations.

Creates map graphics as required for display.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education Level & Type: 6 months post High School

Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 2 years of experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management or Enterprise Asset Management systems.

Valid and Unrestricted Class D - Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the above minimum qualifications as well as have relevant experience in the areas of: 
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Good organizational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work with people from multiple disciplines

Selection Plan

Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be evaluated on the education and work experience in their employment profiles and the responses to their supplemental questions.  The highest scoring applicants will then be invited to participate in a virtual Oral Board Interview.

  • Virtual Oral Board Interviews will be held the week of December 12, 2022
Upon completion of all examination processes, the highest scoring applicants will be placed on the Civil Service Employment List.  An applicant’s ranking on the Civil Service Employment List will be based on their final score which will be calculated as:

  • 10% of the rating for education and work experience
  • 90% rating for the Oral Board Interview 
Selection interviews may be conducted post-list by the hiring manager. 

This recruitment will establish a Civil Service Eligibility List that will be utilized to fill all vacancies within Tucson Water occurring within the next 6 months.
