Administers and manages all activities and personnel in the Analysis Section. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans based on advanced research and analysis to achieve the departments and City’s strategic objectives.
The class performs related duties as required.
Organizes and directs daily operations of a division.
Formulates and implements division strategic plans and work activities to coordinate and synchronize with department directions and goals. Implements and evaluates department policies, projects and programs.
Achieve the strategic objectives of the department and the City in an efficient and effective manner by overseeing planning, implementation, direction and management of all functions and resources of the division. Evaluates department goals, identifies strategic objectives and verifies alignment with City goals.
Hires, disciplines, evaluates, employee performance, investigates and resolves grievances and other human resource actions.
Develops strategic partnerships and contacts with community representatives, external agencies and other organizations to determine needs and concerns of stakeholders.
Demonstrate City and department values through positive interaction with stakeholders and employees. Makes sound and reasonable decisions that demonstrate good character.
Stays current in field and with laws related to area of expertise. Oversees planning and implementation and direction of functions related to updated laws and regulations.
Maintains profession knowledge.
Demonstrate effective communication regarding priorities and projects.
Administers and manages the collection of analysis of data in timely and accurate basis.
Minimum Education Level & Type: Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 3 of required 5 years in a Lead or Supervisory capacity in a crime analysis related field conducting research, statistical analysis and forecasting using statistical computer programs or related field.
"Lead" is defined as leading at least one (1) full-time FTE in a work unit. It does not include leading projects, departments, contractors, interns, etc. "Supervisory" is defined as having supervised at least one (1) full-time FTE.

The following information pertains to driving requirements for this classification with the City of Tucson. Under "Driving Level" None, Secondary or Primary, refers to the driving responsibility as it relates to the essential functions of the classification. License Type, is just that, the type of Arizona Driving License required for the classification. If the position requires a Commercial Drivers License (CDL), the endorsements will be listed under "Endorsements." Under Safety Sensitive a "Yes" means employees with this classification are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Exceptions to classification driving requirement's may exist based on position.
