Installs, tests, disassembles, repairs, calibrates, sandblasts and paints water meters for potable, reclaim, and construction water use.
Meets with customers to conduct meter testing in the field; tests meters for accuracy by performing in-house bench tests. Repairs and replaces meters as needed.
Maintains, tests and repairs backflow equipment. Calibrates and repairs city-owned and private construction water meters to meet AWWA specifications. Records results and processes paperwork.
Performs shop maintenance by maintaining interior and exterior of shop. Complies with ADEQ regulations in maintaining the neutralizing tank by removing waste, replacing filters and disposing of hazardous waste.
Processes and maintains appropriate paperwork. Maintains equipment and tools.
Minimum Education Level & Type: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Minimum Experience Qualifications: At least 1 year testing, repairing, calibrating and installing residential or commercial water meters
Valid and Unrestricted Class D - Driver's License

The following information pertains to driving requirements for this classification with the City of Tucson. License Type A,B,C,D,or M may require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid license and have an acceptable driving record. Use of a personal vehicle for City business will be prohibited if the employee is not authorized to drive a City vehicle or if the employee does not have personal insurance coverage. Exceptions to classification driving requirement's may exist based on position.
