IT Project Managers work within the Information Technology
Department (ITD) using recognized project management methodologies, this
position will focus on the implementation of software applications that range
in complexity and scope from the enterprise to a single department. The project manager coordinates and
prioritizes project tasks, manages timelines, maintains project plans, and
communicates status to clients, project sponsors, and senior management. At any given point in time, Project Managers
will be working independently or in concert with other Project Managers, ITD
staff/management, and various City of Tucson staff/management on single
projects or multiple low complexity projects concurrently.
Serves as a role model in promoting good working relationships across a project. Cultivates the people skills needed to develop trust and communication among all of a project's stakeholders: its sponsors, those who will make use of the project's results, those who command the resources needed, and the project team members.
Brings an agility culture and agile processes to the Project Management Office.
It is expected the individual in the role will work with limited supervision and direction and act in best interest of ITD, stakeholders and the City of Tucson.
Project Management knowledge and experience, including Agile project management.
Knowledge of Project Management Institute guidelines, structure and best practices.
Knowledge of project metrics, including gathering, reporting, trend analysis, creation, and metrics.

Knowledge in SDLC Methodologies, Agile, SCRUM, SDLC / Waterfall and proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project, VISO, Adobe Acrobat Professional
Ability to stay current in industry trends and new technology through professional associations, trade journals, networking, and associated training and seminars.
Strong analytic, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to work well on teams.
Bachelor's
degree in related field and three (3) years of directly related
experience.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. This position would require the ability to Sit, Stand, Bend, Reach, View monitors, use repetitive motions, as well as Talking, Listening, Customer/Client Contact
This position would require lifting up
to 30lbs.
