Introduction
The associate producer advances the mission of MPT to
produce quality programming by assisting in all aspects of production for local
and national pledge breaks and other Development productions in the On-Air Fundraising
department. Major responsibilities of the associate producer will be writing
pledge break scripts, timing live and pre-taped breaks in the studio, producing
and editing spots for the Development
division, coordinating and editing MPT & Your Community and Arts Minute spots
and working with On-Air Fundraising Senior Producer on upcoming Development productions.

Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
●
Write scripts for live/taped pledge breaks and long-form fundraising programs
●
Time live/taped pledge breaks
●
Write promotional copy for on-air spots and eblasts/e-newsletters.
●
Work with the Producer of On-Air Fundraising to create/edit pledge roll-ins and
community
spots.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in
Communications, Journalism, English or related field.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of
writing experience in online publishing, television
or radio broadcasting or publications such as
newspapers and magazines.
Note:
1. Applicants may substitute qualifying
experience on a year for year basis for the required
bachelor's degree.
2. For education obtained outside the U.S., a
copy of the equivalent American education
as determined by a foreign credential
evaluation service must accompany the
application.

Proficient
Skills with Premiere and/or Avid editing software.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Finalists will be required to successfully complete a short, timed writing.

BENEFITS
Contractual employees who work for an agency covered under the State Employee and Retiree Health and Welfare Benefits Program, have a current employment contract and work 30 or more hours a week (or on average 130 hours per month) may be eligible for subsidized health benefits coverage for themselves and their dependents. As a contractual employee, you will be responsible for paying 25% of the premiums for your medical and prescription coverage, including any eligible dependents you have enrolled. The State of Maryland will subsidize the remaining 75% of the cost for these benefits. You can also elect to enroll in dental coverage, accidental death and dismemberment insurance, and life insurance, but will be responsible to pay the full premium for these benefits.
Leave may be granted to a contractual employee who has worked 120 days in a 12 month period. This leave accrues at a rate of one hour for every 30 hours worked, not to exceed 40 hours per calendar year.
