The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. POSITION DUTIES

The main purpose of the Marketing Coordinator is to raise awareness about Maryland Correctional Enterprises, its mission, and its products and services. The goal of the Marketing Coordinator is to develop and execute the plans and strategies that drive revenue. Serving as the Director of Marketing’s right hand, the Marketing Coordinator stays informed about the market, industry trends, and the competitive landscape, while helping strategize and implement marketing, branding and advertising plans. Day to day, you will create or coordinate content, track results, build relationships with the sales and otherwise support all marketing strategies.

1. Perform periodic competitive pricing analysis. 
2. Construct customer surveys to identify potential markets for products and services.
3. Conduct pre-planning trade show timelines and select products and accessories that will be displayed.
4. Arrange hotel blocks, travel arrangements, exhibit set-up/breakdown and exhibit design. 
5. Attend one convention annually.
6. Writes engaging copy for letters, memos, meeting agendas, minutes, newsletter articles, emails, blog posts, and catalog text. 
7. Utilizes and sends in house purchase orders and stock movement reports.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: Two years of administrative staff or professional work.

Notes: 
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience. 
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience. 
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet the selective qualification(s) to be considered. Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. Experience in coordinating tradeshows and other events (luncheons, webinars, and speaker sessions).

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

1. Experience working for a non-profit, government or mission-based organization. 
2. Experience using project management systems (i.e. Trello, Wrike, or Asana) and the ability to manage multiple projects at a time, tradeshow management experience.
3. Experience assisting with marketing strategies.
