LOCATION OF POSITION
Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Manage, maintain, and update Virtual networks
- Manage, maintain, and update infrastructure hardware
- Manage, maintain, and update client/server operating system networks
- Support multiple agency applications
- Work with Chief Information Officer to identify strategies for providing availability of IT resources during failure of primary resources - examples include backup systems and disaster recovery
- Coordinate training opportunities to keep staff skills, knowledge and abilities current
- Schedule personnel assigned to IT Division to meet agency needs. Adjust scheduled and authorize overtime
- Work with the Chief Information Officer to ensure that IT personnel have clear objectives that are being met
- Perform PEP reviews on assigned staff
- Manage project lifecycles
- Coordinate and communicate with Chief Information Officer to ensure information technology needs are met
- Coordinate operations with Data Services, Communications Engineering Services, and EMRC/SYSCOM
- Coordinate equipment needs - new purchases, maintenance and upgrades
- Secure consultant/contractor service as needed to support agency IT initiatives as appropriate
- Apply project management techniques to significant IT projects and supports other agency managers with project management guidance as able
- Manage and coordinate help desk troubleshooting, issue, resolution, and services for agency hardware and software
- Work with IT staff to assure that accurate inventory of equipment assigned to IT is maintained and also assure that accurate inventory of agency IT equipment and software assets is maintained
- Assist with help desk or network troubleshooting or operational issues as necessary to maintain the operation and security of agency networks, applications and data assets
- Monitor and coordinate hardware, software, and application lifecycles, and related development and planning
- Shared responsibility for 24/7 on-call needs to maintain agency information technology systems
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using Cisco products
- Experience working in one or more IT operations fields
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
- Excellent analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated experience overseeing the large scale implementation of a technology solution
- Documented ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects, deliver them on time and within budget
- Experience creating, implementing, documenting, and ensuring compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all aspects of IT operations.
