POSITION DUTIES
- Strategic Planning: Developing long-term IT strategies aligned with the organization's goals and objectives. This includes assessing current systems, identifying areas for improvement, and planning for future technology needs.
- Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Designing, deploying, and managing complex IT infrastructure components such as servers, networks, storage systems, and cloud services. This also involves ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of the infrastructure.
- Security Management: Implementing and managing robust security measures to protect the organization's data, networks, and systems from cyber threats. This includes setting up firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, access controls, and conducting regular security audits.
- Team Leadership and Management: Leading a team of IT professionals, including administrators, engineers, and technicians. This involves assigning tasks, providing guidance and support, conducting performance evaluations, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Vendor Management: Evaluating, selecting, and managing relationships with third-party vendors and service providers for hardware, software, and cloud services. This includes negotiating contracts, overseeing service level agreements (SLAs), and ensuring vendor compliance.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Developing and maintaining plans and procedures to ensure business continuity in the event of a disaster or system failure. This includes regular backups, recovery testing, and documentation of procedures.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to IT, data privacy, and security. This may include GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and others depending on the organization's industry and location.
- Training and Mentoring: Providing training and professional development opportunities for IT staff to enhance their skills and knowledge. This also involves mentoring junior team members and sharing best practices.
- Design and deploy tailored testing environments across multiple teams utilizing VMware infrastructure.
- Administer comprehensive software management using Microsoft InTune to enhance system security and streamline operations.
- Implement and create system images to be deployed to end user devices.
- Provide guidance and be a point of escalation to Junior System Administrator and Junior IT Support members, ensuring tasks are efficiently executed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Eight years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining application, communication, database or operating systems software.

1. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems or other information technology-related field to include coursework in application, communication, database or operating systems software technology for four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate and one year of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining application, communication, database or operating systems software for four years of the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute experience operating computer systems; or scheduling, controlling input and output to process data on computer systems; or evaluating, implementing and maintaining computer hardware and software; or converting data from project specifications by writing program code using generally accepted computer programming languages on a year-for-year basis for a high school education.
4. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems or other information technology-related field to include coursework in application, communication, database or operating systems software technology and four years of experience designing, developing, testing, implementing and maintaining application, communication, database or operating systems software for the required experience.
5. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in the Computer Systems Operations classifications or Computer Systems Operations specialty codes in the Information Technology field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years Proficiency with Active Directory administration, including user and group management, security polices, and troubleshooting.
- Three years Proven experience with scripting using Batch, Powershell, or Python for automation tasks and system administration.
- Two or more years Proven experience in zScaler network security solutions, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Two or more years Experience in conducting training sessions for IT team members, including onboarding new personnel and facilitating skill development workshops.
