Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to receive and review all HG 8-507 court orders and to review the HG 8-505 court ordered evaluation prior to placement to ensure that the defendants are being placed into treatment according to the American Society of Addiction Medicine levels of care. This position facilitates the admission of defendants within the criminal justice population and for those defendants who meet the guidelines of both public health and public safety. The responsibilities of this position require developing time sensitive correspondence to ensure the Judiciary, State’s Attorney Office and Office of the Public Defender/private attorney are efficiently informed regarding the status of a case. The Behavioral Health Administration is legislatively mandated to coordinate the HG 8-505 and 8-507 court orders. This position is eligible for telework which is subject to change as necessitated by operations and customer focused demands.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.

Notes1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess experience with co-occurring SUD treatment; the functioning of the court/judiciary system and ASAM criteria; and, working with multiple computer systems, specifically, G Suite, MDEC, Salesforce.
