Introduction
The Maryland Department of Labor, (MDOL), Division of Unemployment Insurance is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of UI Professional III (Trainer). This recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies. The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year after the closing date of the announcement.

Main Purpose of Job
Create and provide End-User training to DOL/UI staff on use of the BEACON system in the
areas of Benefits, Tax/Contributions, Appeals, Reemployment, Integrity, Federal Reporting
and other Administrative areas.
POSITION DUTIES
Participate in training; Create, revise, and provide ongoing training and demonstrations of the BEACON system and other UI systems via virtual, face to face, and asynchronous training to Contributions unit employees. Deliver end user training in BEACON in all areas of benefits, tax/contributions, appeals, or other administrative areas. Participate in team teaching and training exercises as the BEACON system is improving. Provide support to all stakeholders in navigating the system. Assist with other division specific training as assigned by the UI Training Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Six years of experience in a public/or private agency rendering and/or determining eligibility for a Human Service Program or other programs.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in a public/or private agency rendering and/or determining eligibility for a Human Service Program or other programs for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute additional graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 credit hours on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

- Public speaking and training to a diverse adult audience.
- Creating trainings that are inclusive of disabled audiences.
- Engaging learners live and via a recorded presentation method.
- Using Learning Management Systems to present training materials.
- Developing engaging training modules that include online platforms.
- UI experience focusing on Contributions/Tax/Accounting
Soft Skills:
- Strong organization and time-management skills.
- Creative and problem-solving skills that to accommodate the needs of training audience.
- Effective communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
Extra:
- Video editing experience a plus
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
All candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (Labor/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to Labor/DUI as a result of unemployment insurance overpayment/fraud. Any unpaid debt may have an impact on whether or not a candidate is offered employment.
