LOCATION OF POSITION
POSITION DUTIES
- Providing direction, guidance, and technical advice to Investigative staff in the performance of their duties.
- Reviewing charging documents and Initial Appearance forms.
- Establishing schedules, daily work assignments, and priorities for Investigative staff.
- Providing ongoing training to Investigative staff.
- Assigning and reviewing workload of Investigative staff.
- Ensuring that all designated work assignments are completed and comply with agency interview and investigation standards.
- Compiling and maintaining daily and monthly statistical data on shift performance.
- Conducting monthly performance audits.
- Conducting performance evaluations (PEP) on subordinate staff.
- Conducting monthly staff meetings with subordinate staff.
- Ensuring the shift maintains a 95% verification rating.
- Acting as Duty Supervisor when assigned.
- Recommending appropriate disciplinary sanctions for subordinate staff.
- Adhering to policies and procedures
- Monitoring attendance, approving leave, and approving time cards.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of investigative experience in law enforcement, court services, parole and probation, or pretrial release work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional investigative experience in law enforcement, court services, parole and probation, or pretrial release work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service as a non-commissioned officer in special investigations classifications or specialist codes in the criminal justice field of work at the rate of two years of military experience for one year of experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
- Experience processing data into a criminal justice information system (CJIS)
- Experience with research and report writing
- Experience supervising a team
- Willing to accept assignments on any work shift: day, evening or night
