Introduction
The Maryland Insurance Administration (MIA) is an independent State agency that regulates Maryland’s $49 billion insurance industry and protects consumers by monitoring and enforcing insurers’ and insurance professionals’ compliance with State law. Staff members are subject matter experts who serve as a resource for lawmakers, consumers, and other public and private entities.
LOCATION OF POSITION
POSITION DUTIES
- Shadowing Associate Commissioners and other senior leaders
- Completing assigned research projects
- Learning and understanding the operations of administrative support teams
- Performing data entry
- Attending hearings and draft summaries for group discussions
- Assisting in managing the flow of paperwork
- Participating in education and leadership events hosted by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC)
- Presenting a post-internship summary of experience
