POSITION DUTIES
General
Purpose: The Partnerships Director will
lead the Governor of Maryland’s creator and digital media engagement strategy.
This includes managing relationships with local and national creators, planning
and executing creator-focused events within the state, and coordinating
digital-first media opportunities to amplify the governor’s message across the
state. The Director will work closely with the Communications Director and
Digital Director to coordinate podcast and digital-first media bookings. They will
also play a supporting role with owned video production. This role sits within
the Governor’s Digital Team and collaborates regularly with the Communications
Team and external partners.
Responsibilities:
Partnerships Program Management:
- Develop and execute a data-driven creator strategy that supports the Governor’s priorities and connects with key constituencies across Maryland.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Maryland-based creators and digital partners aligned with this strategy.
- Plan and manage all aspects of creator engagements, including invite lists, event planning and production, and briefing materials for the Governor.
- Report on the outcomes and impact of creator partnerships to the Digital Director, Communications Director, and the Governor.
- Collaborate with state agencies to integrate creator partnerships into their broader digital strategies.
Digital Media Coordination:
- Lead outreach and coordination for podcast appearances and digital-first media opportunities, aligning closely with the Digital and Communications teams on timing and messaging.
- Maintain a comprehensive and up-to-date rolodex of digital creators, media contacts, and key surrogates in the Governor’s network.
- Provide partners with timely updates and content to help amplify the Governor’s messaging and initiatives.
- Coordinate with the Communications Team to secure and prepare for podcast interviews and digital-first media appearances.
Other Duties:
- Collaborate with partners to develop and manage video content produced from the events, aimed at increasing reach, engagement, and virality.
- Monitor emerging trends in the creator and digital media space and support their integration into broader strategy.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: At least five (5) years of
experience in a digital marketing role, ideally two (2) years partnering with
either influencers and creators or booking podcasts.
- Ability to collaborate respectfully and effectively with others
- Experience managing and planning events
- An interest in politics and a commitment to staying on top of political news
- Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours, as needed
