POSITION DUTIES

To timely review and analyze documentation and accounts referred to the Legal Measures Unit after a lawsuit has received a judgment and other related court documents for filing in various Maryland Courts, in pursuit of the collection of delinquent debts due to the State of Maryland Central Collection Unit. Prepare, monitor, review, and update judgment accounts for garnishment.

Please note that this position requires a mandatory one-month in-office training period, after training is complete employees are required to work a minimum of two days per week in the office. Please be aware that training requirements are subject to change. 

This is a special appointment position that serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.  

Experience: Three years of experience performing clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work. 

Notes: 
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience. 
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non- commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Two (2) years of experience with Maryland Court procedures. Candidate should possess a strong familiarity with filing and documentation procedures, specifically utilizing the MDEC system, and have a comprehensive knowledge of legal forms. Additionally, candidate should have a solid understanding of case management and be proficient in using the Maryland Judiciary Case Search.

Two (2) years of experience in customer service.
