Main Purpose of Job

 ** This will be a 6 month internship** 

The primary objective of this position is to provide IT Operations support to the IT Operations Section, encompassing administrative functions, IT inventory management, and first-level technical troubleshooting assistance to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of department technology resources.

Duties Include:
  • Work with the IT Operations team to support the procurement of hardware and software.
  • Assisting maintaining and updating IT inventory in accordance with the established guidelines.
  • Assist with the processing of monthly invoices in Financial Management Information System for mobile devices and landline accounts under staff supervision.
  • Assist with creating requisition in FMIS as requested by Operations Team Member
  • Provide basic end-user IT support to MSDE staff, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues as directed by the IT Operations Team member.
  • Work IT Partners to ensure the devices in conference rooms are operational and the IT storage bins have batteries, clickers, HDMI cables, and extension cords etc.
  • Conduct Periodic conference room walkthrough as directed by IT Operations Team
  • Assist with IT Support for meetings in the conference rooms.
  • Work with IT Partners to update application Inventory and ensure that all applications are accounted for in the respective divisions/offices.
  • Work with DEC IT Partner to provide IT support, such as mailing IT equipment, to regional offices.
  • Assist with the coordination of excess IT equipment disposal in compliance with applicable State regulations.
  • Assist with IT Operation NEO and Onboarding Workshop.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by IT Operations staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:  60 credit hours in Education, Computer Science with a concentration in Business Administration, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Information Technology, or related field

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must consent to State and FBI (CJIS) background check as a routine procedure for all MSDE employees.
