Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to properly clean all lobbies,
offices, restrooms, mailrooms, print shops, hallways, stairways, elevators in each building of the Annapolis State Office Complex assigned to state
employees.
POSITION DUTIES
Duties
include, but are not limited to:
- Dusting all offices, lobbies, and hallways.

Removing trash and vacuuming floor areas.
-
Stripping and waxing tiled floors as needed.
-
Buffing spray tile at scheduled intervals.
-
Wiping down outer areas and cleaning mirrors.
-
Refilling supplies and thoroughly scouring sinks.
-
Sweeping and wet-mopping floors with disinfectants.
- Sweeping and wet-mopping all floor areas and stairwells.
- Shampooing carpets throughout the building twice a year.
- Scrubbing toilets and urinal bowls with disinfectants.

Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms daily, ensuring they are stocked with soap
and paper products.

Education: None.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.

The examination for this position will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience related to the requirements of the position. Successful candidates will be placed on the employment eligibility list categorized as BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED, or QUALIFIED. The eligibility list will be valid for one year and may be extended. The list will be used by the hiring authority to select employees for interviews. Eligible lists may be used to fill future vacancies of the same classification.
Please note, selected candidates may be required to complete and successfully pass a State and Federal fingerprint background check prior to being hired.
