Introduction
The Maryland Department of Labor is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for a Director of Finance position within the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. POSITION DUTIES
- Coordinates and directs the daily administrative, fiscal, procurement, and auditing functions of the fiscal unit, to include budget and fiscal management, special fund analysis, revenue and expenditure projections.
- Leads budget initiatives on behalf of the Commissioner’s Office. Interacts with the Office of Administration and the Secretary’s Office regarding budget development and amendments.
- Directs the preparation of the division’s 24 individual budgets and is the approving official within the division for all purchases and expenditures during the fiscal year.
- Monitors monthly expenditures activity for accuracy regarding types of expenditure and funding sources. Prepares financial management projections, encumbrances, and other relevant factors.
- Reviews legislative audit reports and reports by outside auditors, develops audit responses, and implements corrective action plans.
