MDH Fiscal Services Administration, Baltimore MD

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to manage, direct, plan, schedule and administer the Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS) for the Maryland Department of Health while working with and for State control agencies. FMIS consists of ADHOC and PC Focus Application Development and R*STARS and ADPICS Systems Management. This position also serves as special assistant to the Chief Financial Officer and Deputy Chief Financial Officer and performs non-FMIS related duties in special projects. This position is also responsible for reports for the Office of Budget and Management, Office of the Secretary, other divisions within MDH, and other state agencies (DBM, DLS).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, at least five years of professional fiscal experience. Candidates may substitute additional professional fiscal work experience on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

Desired candidate should possess the following:
  • Strong accounting knowledge/experience
  • Demonstrated analytical and auditing skills
  • Extensive experience and advanced proficiency in Financial Management Information Systems (FMIS)
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities effectively, and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision
  • Creative and proactive mindset, with a proven ability to generate ideas, take initiative, and implement improvements that add value to the organization
  • Strong collaborative approach, with experience working closely with end users and stakeholders
  • Excellent customer service and written and verbal communication skills

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority. A Resume must be uploaded to your application.
