Main Purpose of Job

This position is assigned on a full-time basis to center-wide requisition, supply, and distribution function. This position's duties include personally planning, coordinating, directing, providing and monitoring the provision of supplies and equipment availability throughout the center in order to enhance daily operations. This position is essential to the center's supply chain or line and necessarily must work in concert with Procurement and Fiscal Officers in terms of product evaluations, budget codes and fiscal inventory reconciliations. 

Responsibilities include inspecting all areas of the facility to ensure proper utilization and usage of supplies, equipment and establishing proper facility policies and procedures applicable to equipment disposal including development and design of facility equipment forms. This position functions at times in fiduciary capacity, i.e., security for purchased items. This position must at all times ensure unit's are continuing compliance with internal practices and external regulations. This position must keep comprehensive, accurate and timely records to facilitate inventory control, 'in time' requisitioning, and related practices. To accomplish this in a competent manner, this position must necessarily master sound bookkeeping techniques and procedures. 

This position must monitor and master FMIS system (receiving process and inventory process). This position must discharge all duties and conduct self at all times per all relevant Regulations, Standards, Policies and Procedures including: Legislative Auditors; General Services; Office of the Comptroller, Departments of Budget and Management and Mental Health and Hygiene; Title 17 CODE OF MARYLAND REGULATIONS; MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING; Office of Health Care Quality; ICF-l\1R and SFC; Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services; and Potomac Center. 

Additonal responsibilites include:
  • Ability to manage stockroom involving stocking shelves, lifting boxes, etc.
  • Reporting for work on a regular and continuing basis to include overtime and other availability outside normal work hours
  • Willingness/ability/eligibility to operate State vehicles including truck/van
  • Ability to load/unload/transfer/move large/heavy/bulky goods and materials throughout all Center buildings 
  • Ability to operate computer and be knowledgeable about the various state computerized systems and software necessary to perform duties

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience in receiving, storing, issuing, purchasing and requisitioning supplies, materials, and equipment.

Notes: Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours of education at an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following:
  • Experience and/or knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites, Google platforms and FMIS
  • Experience working in a medical or hospital supply distribution setting with secured inventory and/or sensitive/confidential material
  • Experience working directly with vendors through professional communication and direction
