Main Purpose of Job

This position provides managerial oversight of inventory control, risk management and mailroom services. The incumbent will provide training, oversight control and distribution for all ad hoc, volunteers, senior aides, WEX interns and County staff allocated to Central Services. They will represent the Department as the accountable officer in all matters relating to inventory management, receipt/control/disbursement, high volume duplicating services, courier and mailroom services, risk management and vendor coordination for ADPICS and RSTARS; and act as the assistant to the manager of Central Services.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Leads, directs and supervises subordinate staff in order to ensure day to day efficient delivery of services to 600 internal customers as well as external customers and ensures that agency and unit goals are met in accordance with Federal, State, County, Agency and other applicable policies, procedures and guidelines. 
  • Documents all workmen's compensation claims against the Department, representation of the Department at hearings involving payment claims, validation of said claims as evidenced by the First Report of Injury, supervisory statements, employee statements and witness statements and serves as the departments liasion.
  • Oversight responsibility for the receipt, documentation, control and disbursement of all equipment and furnishings appropriated by the department for over 600 employees in five sites and three satellite locations. This to include manual and automated records and tracking systems, warehousing, disposal, etc. 
  • Coordinates tenant services requests from 600 employees located at five sites and three satellite locations with building engineers, technicians and custodial staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience as stated above on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

  • Possession of a driver's license.
  • One year of supervisory experience.
  • One year of experience in project coordination.
  • One year of experience using Microsoft Office Suite.

Personal Leave- new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date). 

Annual Leave – ten (10) days of accumulated annual leave per year.

Sick Leave – fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year.

Parental Leave – up to sixty (60) days of paid parental leave upon the birth or adoption of a child.

Holidays – State employees also celebrate at least twelve (12) holiday per year.

Pension – State employees earn credits towards a retirement pension.

Positions may be eligible for telework.
