Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Plans, directs, organizes leads and coordinates in determining the department's overall direction, goals, and objectives. Establishes and monitors performance measures and standards of success.
- Develops training manuals and processes, implements, and evaluates policy and procedures.
- Communicates effectively and act as a liaison with State agencies, other child support agencies to ensure optimum service to our customers.
- Facilitates and encourages two-way communication regarding responsibilities, expectations, goals, training and performance of the unit.
- Establishes goals, monitors and tracks performance of the unit.
- Identifies problem areas and makes recommendations for improvement to each supervisor.
- Analyzes legislative and Federal changes to assess impact on operations; plans and implements related changes.
- Develops, reviews, and analyzes management reports to enhance program operations by prioritizing resource allocation, measuring program effectiveness, and evaluating the need for new or modified procedures.
- Identifies problematic areas and makes recommendations for improvement to the Unit The Director.
- Supervises, motivates, develops, and evaluates staff to reinforce staff knowledge of new and existing policies and procedures to ensure optimum individual and unit performance according to Federal, State, local laws, policies and procedures.
- Conducts weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly team meetings.
- Counsels and coaches staff on personnel matters.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Eight years of experience in administrative, professional or technical work, three years must have involved supervision of other employees or exercising responsibility for program development.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute graduate level education at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 credit hours on a year-for-year basis for up to two years of the required general experience.
2. Candidates may substitute additional professional or technical experience in the administration of a human services program or experience conducting studies and analyses of programs, procedures, practices and organizations on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Administrative Officer classifications or Administrative Officer specialty codes in the General, Administrative, Clerical, and Office Services field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education, two years must have been in an administrative supervisory or consultative capacity.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Two years of project management experience
- Two years of customer service experience.
- Two years of Knowledge of Child Support Programs.
