Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Provides direction and assistance to management and staff regarding complying with HR policy and procedures. Strategizes, coordinates and communicates with management and staff throughout the recruitment process.
- Conducts reference check process regarding potential candidates for employment with DAO.
- Prepares the required personnel documents for the recruitment of new staff and the separation/off-boarding of current staff.
- Assists with creation and/or update of job descriptions for new and current positions.
- Ensures that each position has an up-to-date job description.
- Ensures the timely submission of the required documentation for the renewal of contractual positions.
- Maintains an up-to-date report regarding the status of positions within DAO (i.e. vacant, filled, abolished, etc.).
- Organizes, leads or executes projects for the units across the Division as assigned by the Director or Chief of Staff.
- Provides operational support, to include research, management/oversight, development of strategies for execution and ensures that scheduled timelines are met for projects.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.
- Six months of experience in Human Resources Management.
- Six months of experience in project management.
- Six months of experience in a governmental organization.
- Six months of experience in workforce planning and operational support.
