The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. POSITION DUTIES

The purpose of this position is to support the Division of Parole and Probation’s operational and community-focused agenda by managing and coordinating essential administrative functions related to the Division’s field offices. This includes overseeing property management; coordinating leasing, maintenance, security, and facility-related needs; monitoring contract compliance; coordinating technology services; submitting requisitions; procuring staff safety equipment; and working directly with vendors to ensure field offices remain safe, functional, properly equipped, and responsive to operational demands.

- Responsible for various administrative and operational duties by performing, organizing, and/or assigning tasks related to office space, facilities management, property management, leasing coordination, office janitorial services, maintenance, security, staff safety equipment, and technology services for the Division’s field offices.

-  Plans, develops, and monitors contracted services by coordinating activities with office managers, Division leadership, the Office of Real Estate Services, vendors, and other internal and external stakeholders to ensure field offices remain safe, functional, properly equipped, and responsive to operational needs.

- Audits and monitors the performance of contracted entities and vendors in order to assess compliance with agency standards, contract requirements, budgetary restrictions, and operational expectations.

- Coordinates procurement-related activities by submitting requisitions, tracking purchasing requests, working with vendors, and assisting with the acquisition of goods and services, including staff safety equipment, facility-related services, office maintenance needs, security services, and technology-related resources.

- Manages and coordinates activities of subordinate staff by scheduling, monitoring, assigning, and evaluating work in order to facilitate optimal utilization of available resources and ensure timely completion of operational, facilities, procurement, and contract-related responsibilities.

- Evaluates employee performance by observing and reviewing work produced by staff in order to rate performance according to agency standards, provide guidance, and ensure assigned duties are completed accurately, efficiently, and in support of Division operations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for five years of the required experience.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

· Personal Leave - new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date)

· Annual Leave - ten (10) days of accumulated annual leave per year
· Sick Leave - fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year 
· Parental Leave - up to sixty (60) days of paid parental leave upon the birth or adoption of a child
