LOCATION OF POSITION
POSITION DUTIES
- Prepares and maintains files relating to the Maryland Board of Individual Tax Preparers registrants, as well as being the main point of contact for the Board
- Conducts audits of continuing education certificates for Maryland Board of Public Accountancy, Maryland Board of Individual Tax Preparers, and Maryland Board of Foresters
- Answer, and respond as appropriate, to telephone, emails, and in-person requests for information regarding all aspects of the Maryland Board of Individual Tax Preparers, Maryland Board of Foresters and assisting with the Maryland Board of Public Accountancy and Secondhand Precious Metal Objects Dealers and Pawnbrokers.
- Accurately enters information and updates on the computer AS400.
- Records and preparers minutes at meetings for the Maryland Board of Individual Tax Preparers.
- Completes deposits for Maryland Board of Public Accountancy, Maryland Board of Individual Tax Preparers, Maryland Board of Foresters, Secondhand Precious Metal Objects Dealers and Pawnbrokers
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

All candidates are subject to a background check against files maintained by the Division of Unemployment Insurance (LABOR/DUI) to determine whether any monies are owed to LABOR/DUI as a result of unemployment overpayment/fraud. Any unpaid debt may have an impact on whether or not a candidate is offered employment.
