This position is Emergency Essential and will work on a compressed work schedule Tuesday-Friday, 6:30am- 5pm.

Main Purpose of Job

Provide expert multi-trade maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance across Maryland National Guard facilities to ensure safe, compliant, and mission-ready buildings and infrastructure. This position performs advanced work in at least two skilled trades (e.g., HVAC/ electrical/plumbing/carpentry/locksmith/welding), executes complex diagnostics, and completes projects in accordance with State and national codes, safety, standards, and agency procedures. Work supports MMD readiness, occupant safety, and continuity of operations.

POSITION DUTIES

Positions duties included, but are not limited to:

· Complete all customer service requests and work orders. 
· Perform advanced carpentry, masonry, and painting. 
· Perform HVAC services. · Perform plumbing services. 
· Coordinate with vendors and contractors.   
· Provide direction and training to lower-level Skilled Trades personnel. 
· Conduct routine inspections and diagnostics on infrastructure systems.
· Ensure compliance with safety codes, environmental standards, and security procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Five years of experience performing skilled trade work in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, locksmith, masonry, painting, or welding work. 

Note: 
1. Candidates may substitute additional years of experience for the required education on a year-for-year basis. 
 
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

At least 5 years of HVAC and plumbing experience
At least 5 years of masonry, carpentry, and painting experience. 
At least 5 years of experience leading and training lower-level trades personnel. 
At least 5 years overseeing large or complex maintenance projects and providing troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

1. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

This position will require the ability to pass a State & Federal background check to access military facilities within the state of Maryland and to obtain a CAC card. The ability to obtain and maintain this access to the facility and CAC card is a condition of employment for this position.
