This position is Emergency Essential and will work on a compressed work schedule Tuesday-Friday, 6:30am- 5pm.

Main Purpose of Job
Perform advanced journey- level skilled trades work (carpentry, masonry, painting, and locksmithing) across Maryland National Guard facilities statewide. The position supports mission readiness by ensuring all systems are maintained safely, efficiently and in compliance with State, Federal and local building codes. This role provides technical expertise, field leadership, and high-level troubleshooting for complex building systems and preventative maintenance programs.
POSITION DUTIES
Positions duties included, but
not limited to:
· Complete all customer
service requests and work orders.
· Perform advanced
carpentry, masonry, plastering and finishing.
· Plan, estimate, and
oversee large or complex maintenance projects.
· Provide direction and
training to lower-level personnel.
· Install, repair and
maintain locks, hardware, and access systems.
· Conduct routine
inspections and diagnostics on infrastructure systems.
· Ensure compliance with
safety codes, environmental standards, and security procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency
certificate.
Experience: Four years of experience performing skilled trade work in plumbing, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, locksmith, masonry, painting, or welding work.
Note:
1. Candidates may substitute additional years of experience for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher, as a non-commissioned officer in utilities classifications or mechanical maintenance management specialty codes in utility systems repair, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
1. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
This position will require the ability to pass a
State & Federal background check to access military facilities within the
state of Maryland and to obtain a CAC card. The ability to obtain and
maintain this access to the facility and CAC card is a condition of employment
for this position.
