Main Purpose of Job

This position and how it relates to the mission if the agency. The position serves as the DHS Inventory Supervisor and is responsible for assisting with the oversight and coordination of the acquisition, relocation and disposal of furniture and equipment at the DHS Central location as well as across statewide operation for the Department of Human Services. 

POSITION DUTIES

  • Provide oversight and accountability for the control, care, maintenance and security of departmental property at the Department of Human Services Central in accordance with the Department of General Inventory Control Manual. 

  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct site visits to support DHS administration and local departments with physical inventories , providing technical guidance and ensuring accuracy and compliance. 

  • Manage and maintain the DHS Asset Management Software System ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and effective system utilization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:   Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience in general services functions, office administration activities or in the receiving, storing, issuance, purchase or requisition of equipment, materials, and parts and supplies.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience as stated above on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer in logistics specialist classifications or administrative support specialty codes in the logistics field of work, on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

• One year of experience of asset and inventory management experience, tracking, receiving, and maintaining accurate records for 100+ assets.

• One year of experience conducting inventory audits and reconciliations, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining accurate inventory counts.

• One year of experience using Excel or inventory management systems to track asset locations, assignments, transfers, and disposals.

LIMITATIONS ON SELECTION

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience as presented on your application and as they relate to the requirements of the position. For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service is required prior to hire.

• Personal Leave- new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date). 
• Annual Leave – ten (10) days of accumulated annual leave per year.
• Sick Leave – fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year.
• Parental Leave – up to sixty (60) days of paid parental leave upon the birth or adoption of a child.
• Holidays – State employees also celebrate at least twelve (12) holiday per year.
• Pension – State employees earn credits towards a retirement pension.
• Positions may be eligible for telework.
