The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. LOCATION OF POSITION
POSITION DUTIES
- Provide direction, guidance and technical advice to Investigative staff in the performance of their duties.
- Review charging documents and Initial Appearance forms.
- Establish schedules, daily work assignments, and priorities for Investigative staff.
- Provide ongoing training to Investigative staff.
- Assign and review workload of Investigative staff.
- Ensure that all designated work assignments are completed and comply with agency interview and investigation standards.
- Compile and maintain daily and monthly statistical data on shift performance.
- Conduct monthly performance audits.
- Conduct performance evaluations (PEP) on subordinate staff.
- Conduct monthly staff meetings with subordinate staff.
- Monitor attendance, approve leave, and approve time cards.
- Ensure the shift maintains a 95% verification rating.
- Act as Duty Supervisor, when assigned.
- Recommend appropriate disciplinary sanctions for subordinate staff.
- Perform other related duties, as required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of investigative experience in law enforcement, court services, parole and probation, or pretrial release work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional investigative experience in law enforcement, court services, parole and probation, or pretrial release work on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service as a non-commissioned officer in special investigations classifications or specialist codes in the criminal justice field of work at the rate of two years of military experience for one year of experience.
