Introduction

GRADE
LOCATION OF POSITION
POSITION DUTIES
- Grants administration for the Teaching Artist Roster, Arts in Education grant, Folklife Network, Folklife Apprenticeship, and Heritage Award programs (e.g., managing application intake, monitoring compliance, maintaining grant records, and providing extensive logistical support for panel processes).
- Coordinating program communications and developing and co-leading professional development workshops, webinars, conference sessions, and written resources.
- Coordinating site visit logistics and managing multimedia vendor projects.
- Contributing to the mission of the Maryland State Arts Council by making recommendations and sharing ideas on its current concepts, budgetary needs, policies, and procedures.
- Maintaining professional relationships with grantees to ensure effective constituent service.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation
from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency
certificate.
Experience: Three (3)
years of administrative staff or professional work experience.
Note:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from
an accredited college or university for each year up to two years of the
required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's
degree from a college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military
service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included
the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and
interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or
analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for
improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor’s
degree in Arts Administration, Arts Management, Public Affairs, Nonprofit
Administration, Arts Education, Folklore Studies or a related field from an accredited
college or university.
2. Experience in administration of grants, contracts,
and/or public programs and projects in art sector.
3. Proven
experience and proficiency with computer and software skills. (e.g. Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
Tools (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Meet, Google Drive)).
4. Experience in developing, coordinating, and
administering professional development workshop, webinars, conference sessions,
and written information resources.
