POSITION DUTIES

This is an entry-level call center role primarily responsible for collecting debts referred to CCU from various Maryland State agencies. Key duties include assisting with CCU's daily incoming call volume, contacting debtors by phone, and communicating with debtors in-person or via email when necessary.

Please note that this position requires a mandatory two-week in-office training period , and employees are required to work a minimum of two days per week in the office. Please be aware that training requirements are subject to change.

This is a special appointment position that serves at the pleasure of the appointing authority.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: None

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

  1. One year experience in Customer Service 
  2. One year experience in Debt Collection 
  3. Bi-Lingual Individuals are encouraged to apply

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Candidates are required to undergo a criminal background check as part of the selection process due to the financial nature of the job.
