Introduction

As part of the Maryland State Department of Education, the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) provides services to assist students with disabilities prepare for the work world, vocational rehabilitation services to assist adults with significant disabilities who are seeking to enter or reenter the workforce, and the adjudication of Social Security disability claims for the citizens of Maryland.

POSITION DUTIES
- Case Service Purchasing and Billing: Process case service billing through AWARE Case Management System as assigned.
- Create authorizations, prepare bills for payment, resolve billing questions/problems, maintain system for review and verification of bill payment.
- Non-Case Service Purchasing and Billing: With prior administrative approvals, independently act as purchasing agent for the regional and four offices on non-case service purchasing up to $15,000 under current procurement policies.
- Receive and review regional requests for supplies and service orders.
- Code and record daily requests for purchases for the region, maintaining an audit trail.
- Maintain updated inventory records on all staff equipment and furnishings as required by MSDE.
- Provide staff training and technical assistance in the areas of authorizations, bill payment, State contracts, credit card logs, supply ordering, expense accounts, inventory, and other fiscal related areas as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with invoice processing, bill payment and account reconciliation.
- Experience working with the State’s Financial Management Information System (FMIS).
