The Office of the Public Defender Information Technology
Division is seeking well-organized customer service and detail oriented candidate
with good time management and problem solving skills with daily contact in
person and telephone with employees to schedule I.T. office appointments for
support and/or equipment pick up/return.

Main Purpose of Job
The Administrative Officer I is to assist the Chief
Information Officer and other members of the IT Division by managing the
non-technical functions of the IT Division.
Administrative Officer I
requires regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and
interpreting complex administrative plans or policies. The Administrative
Officer I serves as primary problem solver for daily issues. Employees are assigned administrative
responsibilities involving the analysis of operational programs or procedures
with recommendations for improvements.
POSITION DUTIES
*Manage the IT appointment calendar and coordinate with OPD
staff scheduling for equipment pick-up
and drop-off.
*Maintain the Youth Access to Council hotline by updating
the on-call database and generating ad hoc reports as needed.
*Assist with financial operations, including invoice
processing, budget tracking, and reconciliation.
*Assist in managing the IT budget and tracking departmental
expenditures.
*Review IT invoices to verify charges align with contract
pricing prior to payment approval.
*Support the purchasing process by obtaining quotes,
managing purchase orders, and processing invoices. CPC card administrator
for the IT Division.
*Monitor agency cell phone usage and review billing to
ensure compliance with usage policies.
*Coordinate departmental events, meetings, and related
logistics.
*Provide responsive customer service to departmental staff
and both internal and external stakeholders.
*Liaise with IT vendors and service providers to ensure
timely support and service delivery.
*Help maintain an up-to-date inventory of IT equipment and
assets.
*Contribute to IT projects and initiatives through
administrative and logistical support.
*Support the administration of departmental contracts,
including renewals and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
*Track renewal schedules for software licenses and hardware warranties.
*And other duties as assigned by the Chief Information
Officer, Deputy Chief Information Officer, or IT Division
Supervisors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: One year of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

managing the daily operations of an organizational unit or program.
*Proficiency in SharePoint Microsoft Office Suite and Google
applications.
*Ability to track and analyze data.

attention to detail.
*Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving, and
independent learning skills.

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
SELECTION PROCESS
Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be
admitted to the examination for this classification. Successful
candidates will be ranked as BEST QUALIFIED,BETTER QUALIFIED, OR QUALIFIED and
placed on the employment (eligible) list for at least one year.
