The Comptroller’s General Accounting Division is looking for an Administrative Officer II Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, detailed oriented, and intellectually curious. Most importantly, they will be a collaborator and partner who will help to support the General Accounting Division. In its capacity as a control agency, the General Accounting Division of the State of Maryland Comptroller’s Office provides accounting and fiscal support services to state agencies and the public, and assists the State Comptroller in meeting their Constitutional responsibilities. This role oversees the maintenance and monitoring of the State Accounting System vendor table and the triage of customer requests and inquiries. This position provides guidance and resolution to customers for payment, vendor table, certificate of good standing and other inquiries. It is critical to the mission of this agency that vendors, agencies and other constituents are assisted timely and accurately.
Please note: Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of administrative staff or professional work.
NOTES:
- Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for one year of the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from a college or university for the required experience.
- Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
** For education obtained outside of the U.S., you will be required to provide proof of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service. If you possess a degree obtained outside of the United States, please submit a detailed, course-by-course evaluation report from one of the U.S. equivalency evaluating members identified at http://www.naces.org/members.html.
