Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
This position will be responsible for:
Coordinating the Employer Services Program operations and activities to meet the Agency's mission to administer the benefits of the System's participants employed by the State or one of the MSRPS participating employers.
- Serves as a liaison between the State Retirement Agency and participating employers in applying retirement law, regulation, policy and procedures for enrollment, and benefits. Promotes the work of the Agency through frequent contact with participating employers. (30%)
- Works in collaboration and partnership with participating employers through Employer Services education and training activities to instruct in retirement law, regulation, policy, and agency processes. (25%)
- Develops, evaluates, and recommends new training programs using technology to leverage training for online learning with content creation tools. (20%)
- Leads employer certification activities and other employer services projects to ensure all members are receiving the same help and assistance regardless of where they work. (15%)
- Promotes the Maryland State Retirement and Pension System to any Maryland governmental unit considering participation in the System to become a participating governmental unit ("PGU"). As assigned, coordinates and monitors the enrollment and withdraw process of local and county government in the retirement or pension systems. (10%)
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Five years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates will possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Three years professional written and verbal communication experience with customers and public.
- One year experience as a training facilitator, teacher, coach, or other professional certification work
