Introduction
The Maryland Department of
Assessments and Taxation (SDAT) is a customer-oriented agency dedicated to
ensuring accurate property assessments, maintaining business records, and
providing essential tax-related information to state agencies and local
jurisdictions. The Department's core functions are divided into three primary
areas: Business Services, Real Property Valuation, and Property Tax Credits.

Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Provide administrative support to the Real Property State
Supervisor and Area Supervisor team. Manage correspondence and communications,
process requisitions, and coordinate procurement of supplies and equipment.
Arrange and reserve meeting spaces, organize meeting logistics, and handle
travel accommodations. Assist with processing mileage and expense
reimbursements for Real Property staff.
Deliver daily customer support via telephone and email in
accordance with SDAT's customer service policy. Assist a diverse range of
customers by addressing inquiries and resolving concerns, directing them to the
appropriate offices, and forwarding correspondence to the relevant staff or
county. Collaborate with Taxpayer Services to help resolve tax credit-related
issues.
Monitor Real Property contracts to ensure timely renewals
and coordinate with Accounting for payment processing. Assist in scheduling
assessment notice meetings and ensure prompt payment of postage and vendor
invoices to avoid disruptions in notice mailings. Act as a liaison between the
Real Property Division and the Procurement and Accounting departments to
facilitate contract and invoice matters.
Manage correspondence related to golf course and country
club agreements, including tracking agreement expiration dates. Review AIMS 24
records and application agreements to verify good standing and ownership before
submitting to the Area Supervisor for approval. Coordinate Attorney General
(AG) approvals and maintain organized records of all country club agreements.
Distribute annual tax billing service fee forms to county
and town finance offices. Review and approve semiannual service fee charges
submitted by local jurisdictions in accordance with Tax Property Article,
Section 10-204.3(h), on behalf of SDAT.
Schedule and coordinate IAAO and USPAP assessor courses,
including student registration and tracking course completion. Manage logistics
such as securing course materials, booking meeting venues and instructors,
arranging travel accommodations, and facilitating the arrival of both students
and instructors.
Manage user access for 24 county main email and e-fax
accounts, as well as 19 local PTAAB office email accounts. Configure filters
and test online appeal submissions within the main county email inbox. Maintain
and review Bright MLS account users, processing requests to add or remove
access as needed. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the State Supervisor.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates who have
one or more of the following skillsets or experience. Please ensure that your application clearly

Demonstrate
understanding of Real Property procedures to effectively address customer
inquiries.
Experience with the Real Property bulk notice mailing process.
Proficiency in preparing, tracking, and managing requisitions and contracts.

Personal Leave - new State employees are
