The Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services (DPSCS) is seeking dedicated candidates to fill important roles within our department. LOCATION OF POSITION
POSITION DUTIES
The manager of the Case Management Section of the Pretrial
Release Services Program administers and oversees the operation of the section
and ensures that the directives and goals of the agency as well as those of the
Case Management Section are met. The position provides supervision to and
coordination of 1st line supervisors to ensure the efficient and
effective operation of the Case Management Section. The Section’s goal is to
protect the citizens of Maryland by maximizing the probability of defendants
appearing for all scheduled court hearings and by initiating the appropriate
controls which will reduce the probability of arrest.
- Participate in the formulation of agency policy and procedures.
- Prepare extensive and in-depth analytical reports on organization, administration, and management of Case Management services.
- Act as Duty Manager, when assigned, in the absence of Deputy Director.
- Review implemented action plans to ensure the program goals and objectives are met.
- Conduct investigations into complaints lodged against employees and report the results to the Executive Director and Deputy Director.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Four years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Four years of professional experience supervising case agents in a Pretrial agency.
- Three years of professional experience conducting audits and creating statistical reports.
