Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
- Approves or disapproves the original applications of applicants, using independent judgment based on experience and knowledge of current laws and regulations. Approves name changes, credit reports and other changes in license status. Approves or disapproves the applications of reciprocal applicants, reciprocal applicants, agreements and information as required by real estate law. Independent decisions are made using the knowledge of reciprocal laws and regulations from both Maryland and the applicant's original State of licensure.
- Confers with other departments and staff such as the Call Center, paralegals and payment Center
- Assist Licensing Supervisor in training staff and is the Lead employee when Licensing Supervisor is unavailable
- Works with other staff in answering telephone calls and assisting walk-in customers
- Works with the Executive Director to correct issues, problems, errors or complaints regarding the issuance of licenses when Licensing Supervisor is not available.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Two years of experience performing administrative staff, clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
