Main Purpose of Job
This position serves as Special Assistant to the Juvenile Services Education Program (JSEP) Superintendent by conducting policy research and analysis, coordinating with legislative policy staff, and representing JSEP in interagency and stakeholder meetings. The Administrator VI provides strategic recommendations, manages sensitive and high-impact projects, and leads special assignments to ensure alignment of program priorities with state mandates. By doing so, the position enhances the Superintendent’s capacity to focus on vision, strategy, and student outcomes while ensuring compliance and responsiveness across all JSEP schools. This role is responsible for providing significant fiscal and budget analyses to ensure that policies and initiatives are supported by accurate cost projections and sustainable funding strategies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Six years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute the possession of Master's degree from an accredited college or university for five years of the required experience.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Three
years of professional work experience in accounting and finance project
management is required.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, or Business Administration.
Five years of experience in accounting, business relations, and financial analysis, preferably within the education sector.
Proven experience advising senior leadership on strategies to optimize resource utilization for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
Skilled collaborator with a demonstrated ability to engage interagency stakeholders to define and achieve strategic objectives and priorities.
Strong track record of delivering accurate, actionable results in a high-tempo operational environment.
LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
