Air Quality Compliance Program-

The incumbent in this position will serve as the Environmental Program Manager I (Division Chief) responsible for planning, directing, developing, and implementing the activities of the Field Services Division within ARMA’s Air Quality Compliance Program. The Environmental Program Manager I will provide managerial oversight for a statewide program ensuring compliance with air quality regulations at sources of air pollution. The incumbent will manage the program through subordinate supervisors and ensure consistent enforcement and implementation of air quality standards across the state.

Education:   A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university including 30 credit hours in engineering or the biological, environmental or physical sciences.

Experience: Three years of experience supervising a professional staff or as a project supervisor in the Air and Radiation Management field of work.

Notes:

1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in engineering, public administration or law as related to environmental health on a year-for-year basis for the required education.

2. Applicants may substitute registration as an Environmental Sanitarian or as a Professional Engineer for the required education.

3. Applicants may substitute one additional year of experience in engineering, public administration or law related to environmental health for the 30 credit hours of required education.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Environmental Engineering and Natural Resources classifications or Environmental Engineering and Natural Resources specialty codes in the Engineering, Natural Resources and Science field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.

Applicants must meet the selective qualifications listed below to be considered:

• Knowledge of air quality management principles
• Knowledge of field inspection protocols and techniques
• Managerial/supervisory experience

PERSONAL LEAVE - New State employees are awarded six (6) personal leave days annually (prorated based on start date).
