Main Purpose of Job
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university including 30 credit hours in engineering or the biological, environmental or physical sciences.
Experience: Three years of experience supervising a professional staff or as a project supervisor in the Air and Radiation Management field of work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute additional experience in engineering, public administration or law as related to environmental health on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
2. Applicants may substitute registration as an Environmental Sanitarian or as a Professional Engineer for the required education.
3. Applicants may substitute one additional year of experience in engineering, public administration or law related to environmental health for the 30 credit hours of required education.
4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience at a rank of Corporal/Petty Officer or higher as a commissioned officer in Environmental Engineering and Natural Resources classifications or Environmental Engineering and Natural Resources specialty codes in the Engineering, Natural Resources and Science field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants must meet the selective qualifications listed
below to be considered:
- Knowledge of air quality management principles
- Knowledge of field inspection protocols and techniques
- Managerial/supervisory experience
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Three years of experience in an air quality field;
- Knowledge of air quality compliance and inspection protocols.

PERSONAL LEAVE - New State employees are awarded six (6) personal leave days annually (prorated based on start date).
ANNUAL LEAVE - ten (10) days of accumulated annual leave per year.
SICK LEAVE – fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year.
PARENTAL LEAVE – up to sixty (60) days of paid parental leave upon the birth or adoption of a child.
HOLIDAYS – State employees also celebrate at least twelve (12) holidays per year.
