Main Purpose of Job
Serve as an Executive Assistant to the Superintendent’s Office of a progressive school for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and assist in the management of the operations of the school.
POSITION DUTIES
Monitor MSD's
interpreting request process/usage as well as process all interpreting invoices
and schedule interpreters. Serve as one of MSD’s Travel Coordinators by
securing appropriate travel arrangements for both MSD Staff and Students,
ensuring all state travel regulations are followed and travel reimbursements
are accurately accounted for and processed in a timely manner. Provide support in the management of the
Superintendent's office day to day operations by serving as the front office
coordinator in conjunction with the Chief of Staff to support the array of
tasks and projects assigned to the Superintendent’s office including
interpreting and travel requests. Answer the main phone line and Ambrosen
Building doors to provide assistance to MSD staff and students,
parents/guardians, community members, external organizations and visitors.
Process incoming and outgoing mail. Identify and submit office supply orders
for the superintendent's office and Ambrosen building staff. Schedule service
calls for the Ambrosen building office equipment. Assist with compiling and
communicating information, preparing correspondence and proofreading materials;
collaborate with the Records Management Officer on record-related matters.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Five years of experience in administrative or professional work.
High level English writing and verbal communication skills required.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of or willingness to learn American Sign Language.
Experience with Microsoft Office and Google products, travel,
invoice processing and contract monitoring preferred.
Demonstrated strong organizational skills that reflect
ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with strong attention
to detail.
Proved ability to be highly resourceful team-player,
with the ability to be effective with minimal supervision.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
New hires are subject
to a criminal background investigation at their own expense (Maryland Code,
Family Law Article 1, Sections 5-560 – 5-568)
