Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Program Director of Outpatient Addictions Program of the Allegany County Health Department.  It is responsible for providing vision, direction, management, and oversight to all staff and functions of the program and oversight of all budgets within the program.

Job duties include:

  • In collaboration with the Director of Behavioral Health, the Medical Deputy Health Officer and the Health Officer, this position renders decisions on program administrative issues including personnel actions, utilization of resources and review of policies and procedures.
  • Directly planning, coordinating, evaluating and supervising the work of all professional staff.
  • Responsibility for various treatment grants and management of collections.
  • Ensuring that all services provided meet the highest standards of quality.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a current license as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) or a Certified Associate Counselor - Alcohol and Drug (CAC-AD) from the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists, 5 years of experience working with substance abuse disorders, including at least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience.  Applicants must also be a Maryland board approved A/D supervisor.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates should possess the following:

  • Knowledge of dual diagnosis issues (mental health and addictions)
  • Knowledge of medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD)
  • Experience with writing and monitoring grants performance standards

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
