Introduction
The Maryland Higher Education
Commission (MHEC), is seeking an experienced and energetic individuals to fill
the position of Grants Management Manager.

Main Purpose of Job
The Grants Management Manager
(GMM) works collaboratively with the Grants Management (GM) staff, Office of
Student Financial Assistance staff, the Maryland State Department of Education,
and others to support and administer grant programs addressing college
readiness, college access and success, and student financial literacy and other
issues. The GMM leads or assists with the development of agency grant
applications (e.g., federal, foundation funding sources), manages assigned sub
grant programs from pre- to post-award including but not limited to Request for
Application development, Review Panel management, funding recommendations,
fiscal management and all post award monitoring, data/report collection, and
close out. The GMM provides technical assistance to faculty, staff, and other
types of grantees to assist them with application development and successful
project implementation. This position may lead grant project teams as assigned.
The GMM represents MHEC on work groups or tasks forces and covers for the
Assistant Secretary in his/her absence as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: A
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Two years of administrative or teaching
experience in post-secondary education programs.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's
degree from an accredited college or university for one year of
the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a
Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university for two
years of the required experience.

Personal Leave - new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date).
Annual Leave - ten (10) days of accumulated annual leave per year.
Sick Leave - fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year.
Parental Leave - up to sixty (60) days of paid parental leave upon the birth or adoption of a child.
Holidays - State employees also celebrate at least twelve (12) holidays per year.
Pension - State employees earn credit towards a retirement pension.
