Introduction
The Department of Information Technology (DoIT)
leads the State in the creation and implementation of information technology
solutions that improve IT infrastructure and government services and keep
Maryland current within IT industry trends.

Main Purpose of Job
POSITION DUTIES
Maintains appointments &
schedule for each executive. Ensures
calendar items are accurate and all parties are notified of upcoming meetings
in advance.
Makes in-state and out of
state travel arrangements which includes airfare, hotel, rental car, and
registration. Prepares reimbursement
expense reports for these requests.
Receives phone calls, greets
in person visitors, and serves as a liaison between the DoIT executive and agency
secretaries, staff, vendors, Department of IT staff, etc. Routing these requests to the most
appropriate person.
Copying, scanning, faxing
documents, as well as taking meeting notes.
Processes all documents for signature through Adobesign.
Assists in preparing materials for meetings, both in person
and virtual.
Serves as back up to
Administrative Assistant who supports the Secretary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
Experience: Three years working for
an executive level director and performing advanced level secretarial
work.
Notes: Additional experience working for an executive level director and
performing advanced level secretarial work may
be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required education.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preference will be given to candidates who have
one year experience in each of the following areas:
Using
Google Applications at an advanced level in maintaining/updating calendars,
setting up meetings and creating documents in Google Drive & sheets.
Using Microsoft
Suite applications in creating and maintaining expense reports in Excel, creating
documents in Word and presentations in PowerPoint.
Proficient in routing documents
through Adobesign for signatures.
Experience in making travel
arrangements.
