POSITION DUTIES

This position performs collection processing to ensure accurate distribution of payments and provides technical support to internal and external customers. This position will complete special projects, participate in scheduled trainings, meetings, and perform other duties as assigned. 

Reviews the Unidentified Receipts Report and the Unprocessed Funds Report for receipts that were not distributed during the overnight processing. 

Resolves issues that have prevented distribution of child support receipts by acting a liaison between customers and the Technical Assistance Division. 

Executes Fiscal Adjustment Requests by researching, preparing and transmitting Local Transaction Requests to process receipts in unprocessed funds. 

Provides customer service to child support customers by providing copies of financial records and answering telephone inquiries.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants must meet all minimum (and selective) qualifications to be considered, and to appear on the list of people eligible for hire. Please read all requirements before applying.

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Three years of experience reviewing, verifying, recording, adjusting and balancing financial transactions.

Notes:

1. Experience calculating and recording financial, statistical or other numerical data may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required high school education.

2. Six credit hours in accounting from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience in Financial Clerical/Finance Technicians classifications or specialty codes in the financial field of work at a rate of one year of military experience for the required experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

Three months of experience using Microsoft Excel or similar software to create spreadsheets.

Three months of experience using Microsoft Word or similar software to create documents and letters.

Three months experience using Gmail or similar email system to correspond to internal and external customers.

EXAMINATION PROCESS

The examination will consist of a rating of your education, training, and experience as presented on your application and as they relate to the requirements of the position. For education obtained outside the U.S., a copy of the equivalent American education as determined by a foreign credential evaluation service is required prior to hire.

·       Personal Leave - new State employees are awarded six (6) personnel days annually (prorated based on start date).

·       Annual Leave - ten (10) days of accumulated annual leave per year.

·       Sick Leave - fifteen (15) days of accumulated sick leave per year.  

·       Parental Leave - up to sixty (60) days of paid parental leave upon the birth or adoption of a child.
