Main Purpose of Job

This management level position serves as a Behavioral Health Project Manager for Crisis Response. This position’s scope is to identify, create, and implement mechanisms and tools to improve the coordination and delivery of public behavioral health services. The primary goal of this position is to provide a systematic response to emerging priority issues in the public behavioral health system. A secondary focus of the position is to improve the system’s supportive infrastructure through the expansion of provider services, coordination with local behavioral health authorities, and the larger public behavioral health system to expedite care and improve quality outcomes.

This position provides senior level direction, management and oversight of initiatives which promote crisis response. This oversight includes supervision of subordinate staff, and management of Hospital Care Coordinator contracts and Clinical Placement Specialist contracts.  Methods to achieve the goals that fall within the scope of this position’s responsibilities include crisis response, hospital care coordination, clinical placement, technological innovation, and evaluation. 

This position sits on the following councils and committees: Registry and Referral Revisory Council, Systems Advisory Council, State Hospital Discharge Initiative, DHS/MDH Hospital Overstay Committee, DHS/MDH RTC Committee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess  a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and six years of health or human services administrative or professional experience, including at least three years of experience at a supervisory or managerial level.

A Master's degree will substitute for one year of the general experience. A Doctorate will substitute for two years of the general experience. Additional experience will substitute one a year-for-year basis for the college degree.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The desired candidate should possess the following experience:

  • Experience with contracts and procurement
  • Experience leading a project from inception to implementation
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups to achieve an outcome
  • Experience working in human services dealing with complex support needs
  • Knowledge of public policy impact on human services

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
