Main Purpose of Job

This position serves as the Cancer Screening Programs Unit Manager for the Center for Cancer Prevention and Control. S/he provides day-to-day operational direction to the Cigarette Restitution Fund Programs Unit (CRFPU), the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP), and the Colorectal Cancer Control Program (CRCCP). The Cancer Screening Programs Unit Manager directs all technical and programmatic aspects of the three programs, including the development of work plans and budgets, tracking expenditures, planning of resources, and management of assets, including procurements. This position is also responsible for securing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., other MDH offices, health systems and payers, local health departments) to advance the mission and goals of the programs. This position will also serve as the Program Director for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-funded programs (BCCP and CRCCP).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates should possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 6 years of professional experience in health or human services, with 3 years at the managerial or supervisory level. Qualified candidates must also possess at least 3 years of program management experience in health services, preferably in the area of cancer prevention and control.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates will possess:
  • Experience managing federal grants and budgets;
  • Proficiency in monitoring contracts and grants; and,
  • Experience building and maintaining partnerships with healthcare stakeholders.

SELECTION PROCESS

This is a Management Service position and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
