LOCATION OF POSITION

MDH, Western Maryland Hospital Center, Hagerstown, MD

Main Purpose of Job

This position is responsible for the oversight and monitoring of the facility’s ongoing compliance with all federal and state laws and regulations as well as accreditation standards, which includes, but is not limited to, the implementation and enforcement of all provisions and regulations by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 10.07.01 and 10.07.02, the Joint Commission, and the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). This position is also responsible for the implementation and oversight of the facility’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) and Risk Management Plans.

POSITION DUTIES

  • Provides interpretation and guidance on federal and state laws and regulations as well as accreditation standards. 
  • Facilitates, manages and monitors the facility’s compliance with regulatory/licensure requirements and accreditation standards and requirements. 
  • Designated as the Facility Representative for MDH Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ) and accreditation organizations to facilitate inspections and surveys. 
  • Facilitates and manages the completion and reporting of all corrective performance improvement plans and corrective action plans. 
  • Ensures compliance with all regulations related to Patients’ Rights and Responsibilities. 
  • Receives and reviews all complaints of abuse, neglect, harassment, etc. and prepares requires reports to regulatory agencies based on established policy and requirements. 
  • Facilitates completion of the annual Facility Assessment and provides executive level review, interpretation and guidance. 
  • Develops and implements a plan for continuous quality assurance and performance improvement for the facility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Qualified candidates must possess a bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university, current license as a Nursing Home Administrator from the Maryland Board of Nursing Home Administrators, five years of experience working in a health care setting, including three years of managerial or supervisory experience.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates should possess the following:
  • Experience interpreting laws, regulations, and accreditation standards
  • Experience planning and developing quality assurance and performance improvement measures and outcomes

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Must possess a current license as a Nursing Home Administrator from the Maryland Board of Nursing Home Administrators.

This is a Management Service position, and serves at the pleasure of the Appointing Authority.  A resume must accompany your application.
