LOCATION OF POSITION

Baltimore City

Main Purpose of Job

Supports the principal in oversight of the instructional and administrative leadership of the school, directs and evaluates school programs and activities. Establishes a climate which is responsive to the needs of students, staff, DJS, juvenile facility vendor and MSDE.

POSITION DUTIES

Serves as the immediate supervisor of teachers and staff in a juvenile services facility; coordinates the activities of the school program with institutional officials; monitors special education services; maintains educational records; counsels students; supports the work of the local school improvement team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:  A Master's Degree in School Administration and Supervision or Master's Degree with 18 graduate credits in School Administration and Supervision and in possession or eligible for a Maryland Administrator II  or Principal Certificate.  

EXPERIENCE:  Three years of satisfactory teaching experience.

Previous alternative/urban/ juvenile services education experience
