Main Purpose of Job

This position is the Deputy Director of the Maryland State Police Facilities Management Division and provides administrative oversight of all maintenance, renovation, emergency repair and facilities infrastructure enhancements for all Maryland State Police facilities statewide. The position also involves varying levels of project management including contact with many levels of government and numerous commercial vendors. This position assumes full responsibility for the Facilities Management Division in the absence of the Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Five years of experience in the comprehensive review and implementation of buildings and grounds maintenance and repair programs. This experience should include three years of experience with Computerized Maintenance Management software and one year of experience in the performance of contract/vendor monitoring.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. A working knowledge of National Fire Protection Association codes and sections of COMAR covering Environment, Fuel Master and Vehicle Policies.

2. Computer skills to include MS Office Suite

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants for this position will be subject to a complete criminal background investigation to include a polygraph examination before permanent appointment can be made. A criminal conviction may be grounds for rejection of the candidate.
